The first official hole


It's Christmas and the end of 2019. This year I comitted to spending time every morning before work on my own project. What was supposed to be a few months to explore a single mechanic became a year long trek to juice up the shovel, add conveyance, learn VRTK4 and make something people have fun in.


After crushing a million bugs (and accepting about 30) I've decided it's ready to share, and see what people think. Honestly just proud I stuck it out without succumbing to scope creep (though for a while I had a voice activated dialogue system using IBM Watson which I scrapped as it didn't really make it more fun) and just kept coming back to for a goal - make it by  to dig a hole. 


I've now got a pretty good system for digging, dialogue and expanding tools. Also a rudimentary quest and collect system. So after some feedback I might flesh out the dungeon crawler mechanic- or add multiplayer, persistent holes, so you can meet your friends in your favourite holes, and work on the hole together (maybe filling an emotional hole at the same time).


I'm not sure how this will be received as it's still got a lot of stitches showing, but I hope to keep updating, and adding my experiences to ITCH as I create new stuff.
